Chinese FM responds to reports on Ukraine's deal with US on mineral resources

US media reported that Ukraine and the US reached an agreement on a deal over the development of Ukraine's mineral resources, which could help ease the recent tensions between Ukraine and US President Donald Trump, and advance the goal of a ceasefire with Russia.

On Wednesday, when asked about how China views such arrangement and whether the agreement help Ukraine achieve peace more quickly, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that China has taken note of the relevant reports without providing further details.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to travel to Washington, DC in the coming days, after the US and Ukraine agreed to terms on a deal over natural resources and reconstruction, CNN reported on Tuesday local time, citing a Ukrainian official.
